Looking back and looking ahead: from a garage to our very own cafe

How We Got Here

Believe it or not, Spinnaker started in a garage, where every batch was a labor of love and a test of patience. When we moved into our Ravenna shop, it felt like a mansion in comparison—a dream come true. Now, as we prepare to move again, it’s both humbling and exhilarating to realize just how much we’ve grown, and the community of customers we’ve cultivated along the way. The overwhelming support from you has made this possible, and we’re beyond excited for what’s ahead. 

Spinnaker Chocolate started with a simple belief: better ingredients make better food. We knew that if we could source the best cocoa beans and refine our process, we could make truly exceptional chocolate—pure, smooth, and full of flavor. What began as inspiration from other chocolate makers quickly became an obsession. Years of research, testing, and tinkering led us to develop a uniquely scientific approach to chocolate making, one that sets us apart to this day. We feel confident we’ve proven that hypothesis, so it's time to continue doing what we do best while also expanding on the Spinnaker experience for our customers. 

Where We’re Headed

After four years in Ravenna, we’re taking the next step in our journey. We’ve outgrown our current space, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’re moving toa brand-new factory, storefront, and café in Wallingford!

Starting in May 2025, our new home at 3509 Stone Way N, Seattle, WA 98115 will allow us to do more of what we love:

  • A cozy café – A space to slow down and savor hot chocolate, mochas, and locally sourced coffee and pastries.

  • More room for chocolate-making & tours – Our expanded production space will allow us to host more behind-the-scenes factory tours and hands-on chocolate-making classes.

  • New & expanded product offerings – With this move, we can finally bring long-dreamt-about products to life, including even more truffles and confections.

Looking Ahead

This move is about more than just space—it’s about continuing to push the boundaries of how great chocolate can build community. We’re excited to welcome you into our new home and share everything we’ve been working on.
